Studying viral dynamics across ecosystems
Arvind Varsani is a molecular virologist who works across ecosystems, from plants to animals and from the tropics to the polar regions. His research uses a combination of traditional virology, microscopy (including transmission electron microscopy), and molecular and cellular biology techniques in conjunction with modern sequencing techniques, synthetic biology, and bioinformatics to characterize viruses and understand their dynamics.
Arvind has collaborated with IDT on multiple articles and interviews, sharing his insight and knowledge across topics such as wastewater-based epidemiology, NGS for viral surveillance, and the dynamics between humans and their ecosystems.
